Musical Celebration of Chicago’s 175th Year of Official Incorporation
Voices of Chicago is a musical revue in tribute to the great musical styles that make Chicago the City of the Century! Jazz, blues, gospel, folk, pop, and soul were made famous by Chicagoans Dinah Washington, Koko Taylor, Nat King Cole, Mel Torme, Steve Allen, Jule Styne, Thomas Dorsey and Steve Goodman among others.
An all-star cast of Chicago’s top nightclub vocalists comprise Voices of Chicago: Kimberly Gordon, Skip Griparis, Jeff Hedberg, Lynne Jordan, Mark Madsen, Liz Mandeville, Isiah Mitchell, Daryl Nitz, Denise Tomasello and special guest, the legendary Audrey Morris complete the cast with musical direction by Beckie Menzie and Nick Christensen on percussion.
Each vocalist is deeply rooted in Chicago music and has garnered many rave reviews and accomplishments. Audrey Morris is a Chicago legend – having performed among the late and great Chicago night clubs for half a century and is currently the Artist in Residence at Maxim’s. Kimberly Gordon is an Artist in Residence at the Green Mill and has been holding the Sunday night coveted spot for over nine years. Soul singer Lynne Jordan performs at the Drake and Chicago Sun-Times raves, "Lynne Jordan is great, no she’s fabulous." Sages nightclub icon Denise Tomasello, blues great Liz Mandeville, Davenport’s front man Daryl Nitz, Petterino’s Monday Night Live host Beckie Menzie, Andy’s Jazz Club regular Jeff Hedberg, help round out the cast.
