Southport Records Presents
Bobby Lewis-flugelhorn & Jim Ryan-piano
Southport Records presents a NEW series of events at Katerina’s on the first Saturday of every month! Label partners Bradley Parker-Sparrow, pianist and vocalist Joanie Pallatto, will open each evening with their original duets and improvisations. The early evening sets will present a mix of artists from the label roster, featuring avant garde, classical and new music.
Bobby’s career has spanned four decades from touring with Jack Teagarden, Tex Beneke and the Modernaires, and as conductor and featured soloist with Peggy Lee, to creating and leading several of his own groups in performances and at Jazz festivals all over the world. He has produced 9 CD recordings of his music, and as a studio musician has played on more than 7500 recording sessions. Bobby’s love affair with music is still going strong!
Jim Ryan has been a professional musician since 1962, in Los Angeles and Chicago, has done recording as a performer, and writer/producer of commercial music for television and radio. Jim played keyboards for AL JARREAU on his Grammy Award-winning album "All Fly Home". He toured and recorded with a rock group called THE MOB in the 1960’s. His piano artistry and musical sensitivity are well known in the musical world. He performs regularly with his own groups and as a soloist and with Bobby Lewis in concerts as a Jazz duo through septet. Jim has appeared on all of the BOBBY LEWIS CD recordings for Southport Records.
