A wonderful fellow with a very nice smile,

center stage (with his bass) JIM COX!

It was a real thrill to finally meet Jim Cox. Last year at CHICAGO JAZZFEST I met him briefly after his set with Ron Dewar  and our pal Phil Gratteau. Back then there was no time and I didn’t get to chat with him at all. Luckily for me yesterday I did!  He is not just a great bass player but a kind and thoughtful fellow. Jim is also playing bass, through August 26, 2009, with another friend of ours, Angel Spiccia, on Wednesdays from 5:00 pm – 8:30pm, Andy’s Jazz Club, 11 E. Hubbard, Chicago!
